Home of St. Patrick's Gaelic Athletic Association in Fairfield County, Connecticut

2020 Gaels of the Year & Player of The Year

St. Patrick’s GAA Club will host its Annual Dinner Dance on Saturday December 7th at the GAC.  St. Patrick’s will honor Mike & Alison O’Connor as the Club’s “Gaels of the Year” for their many years of hard work and dedication to promoting and sustaining youth Gaelic football & hurling in Fairfield County.  From the O’Connor’s passion and enthusiasm for Gaelic games, St. Patrick’s has captured Continental Youth Championships (“CYC”) and New York Minor Board GAA (“NYMB”) championships in both hurling and football.  Mike's passion for hurling - and his native County Wexford - is infectious and he has single handedly inspired a generation of new hurlers. From organizing & coordinating our U8 and U10 teams for practices, games, and tournaments, Alison has been a powerful force behind our youth programs over the years.  In addition to all her hard work during fall and spring championships, Alison is a member of the Club’s Board of Officers & also volunteers each winter during the Introduction to Gaelic Football Program each January and Cul Camp every summer.

In addition to our Gaels of the Year, St. Patrick’s will recognize Sean Conway as the Club’s 2019 Senior Gaelic Football Player of the Year.  Sean has been an exemplary member of the St. Patrick’s Senior Gaelic Football team for many years and has demonstrated tenacity, skill, and leadership in the Club’s quest for a NY GAA title.  Sean has been a role model both on and off the field. He hasset the example with his commitment to the Club & our Senior Team and has always demonstrated a fierce determination to win.

The night begins at 6:30pm with traditional Irish Music by the Damien & Sally Connolly followed by the ever-popular Padraig Allen and his McLean Avenue band.  O’Neills Pub of South Norwalk will be serving a hearty Irish meal and there will be an Open Bar. Tickets are only $100. (Discounted ticket price available for senior citizens available.)  Tickets may be purchased on the club store beginning on November 1st.
